Many will ask where did I come up with this title. Well my research before the painting simply says this :

 

Amnion - A thin, tough, membranous sac that encloses the embryo or fetus of a mammal, bird, or reptile. It is filled with a serous fluid in which the embryo or fetus is suspended.

 

Amalgam - a mixture of elements ( in this case ) a mermaid preparing to give birth outside the water which could make the baby a land walker.
